{"id":544,"date":"2020-04-09T18:25:49","date_gmt":"2020-04-09T17:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.howiewatkins.co.uk\/?p=544"},"modified":"2020-04-16T10:46:25","modified_gmt":"2020-04-16T09:46:25","slug":"signage-display-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.howiewatkins.co.uk\/?p=544","title":{"rendered":"Signage display project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 1992, two Industrial Design students from Carmarthen College of Technology and Art, Stephen Thomas and Gary Orme, were volunteered by their lecturer Mike Whalley to work on a design for a flexible and cost-effective mounting system to display the new signage I was developing for Penscynor Wildlife Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Their solution, a square metal plate over which a shaped plastic cover slid to display the sign in either landscape or portrait orientation. Their prototype was installed on the barrier to the Penguin enclosure where it worked well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sadly, I couldn&#8217;t secure funding to develop the design beyond this first
